Against the backdrop of Volkswagen's market success and continuing growth in China, the company is setting up the new function of Group Representative for Human Resources in China. Klaus Dierkes (53) has been appointed to this function and becomes Executive Vice President of Volkswagen Group China effective January 1, 2011. Dierkes is currently the member of the Board of Directors responsible for Human Resources at Škoda Auto in Mladá Boleslav. He is succeeded by Bohdan Wojnar (49), hitherto responsible for human resources at Volkswagen Slovakia (Bratislava).
Bohdan Wojnar joined the commercial department of Škoda in 1985. He took charge of the brand's profitability analysis controlling in 1992, and was given responsibility for global controlling in 1996. He became Board member Finance and Controlling at Volkswagen Slovakia in 2006 and was appointed Board member Human Resources there in September 2008.
Klaus Dierkes has held various management posts in the Volkswagen Group since 1984, and was instrumental in setting up new business fields at the headquarters in Wolfsburg. He was appointed Head of Human Resources Volkswagen Deutschland in 2006, General Representative of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft in 2007, and member of the Board of Directors for Human Resources at Škoda in April 2008. In his future post he will report to the President and CEO of Volkswagen Group China, Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann.
