Mladá Boleslav, 31 October 2012 – No less than two new model variants of the popular compact SUV the ŠKODA Yeti are currently rolling out to dealers. The Yeti "Adventure" is a special model that is styled for excitement and is available immediately. Also new in the ŠKODA Yeti programme is a luxurious "Laurin & Klement" trim line. In addition, the 1.4 litre TSI/90 kW engine version of the ŠKODA Yeti can now also be ordered in combination with a 7-speed DSG double-clutch transmission. Finally, fatigue recognition is now available as an optional safety feature for the Yeti.

These innovations are designed to further enhance the ŠKODA Yeti's position in the marketplace. In the first nine months of 2012 alone, deliveries of the ŠKODA Yeti to customers rose to more than 66,400, advancing by almost 31 per cent year on year. "The ŠKODA Yeti is a serial victor in tests, it is very popular with our customers and so far this year, it is our fastest-growing model," says Werner Eichhorn, ŠKODA board member for sales and marketing. "Thanks to the new variants, our all-round SUV has become even more attractive."

The ŠKODA Yeti Adventure special model is one that inspires just that: adventure. This is thanks to numerous features such as the "Reef" exterior package with Matterhorn 17-inch wheels, silver roof rack and side panels with chrome strips as well as seat covers with silver trace design. The base of the special model is the Ambition trim level. Customers can now choose engines and transmissions from across the entire palette.

Fans of elegant appearances can now order an especially classy variant of the Yeti: the ŠKODA Yeti Laurin & Klement (L&K), named for the two company founders, the mechanic Václav Laurin and the bookseller Václav Klement. The company they founded in 1895 later merged with ŠKODA. Following the ŠKODA Octavia and Superb, the Yeti is now the third ŠKODA to come with an L&K trim line of its own. What makes the ŠKODA Yeti L&K classy is its Annapurna 17-inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights with curve lighting function, automatically dimming driver-side exterior mirror, SunSet glazing and silver roof railing. Lettering on the two front fenders announces the L&K trim. The L&K version is available in white and in all metallic paint tones and with almost all engine versions (except 1.2 TSI/77 kW and 1.6 TDI CR/77 kW).

The interior trim leaves hardly a wish unfilled. Black leather seats with silver seams and embossed L&K lettering, 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel, gearshift lever and handbrake lever in black leather with silver seams, trim strips in piano finish or wood trim with L&K lettering, front door sills with L&K lettering, textile floor mats with silver border, Bolero radio, netting programme, it's all on board the ŠKODA Yeti L&K.

The ŠKODA Yeti has also become more attractive in its engine offering. Available immediately is the new engine-gearbox combination of the 1.4 TSI/90 kW with automatic seven-speed DSG double-clutch transmission DSG. An interesting new safety feature for the ŠKODA Yeti is the optional fatigue recognition, which uses steering behaviour to assess the driver's concentration level and trigger a warning message in the instrument display if necessary. Also, an update for the Columbus navigation system is shipping, enabling reception of digital radio. Finally, the new gearshift knob generation will be available for the Yeti from November 2012.

ŠKODA will be altering the designation of the ESP safety feature across the entire model palette from the new model year. It will henceforth be referred to as ESC – Electronic Stability Control. In the colour programme, Aqua Blue will be discontinued and replaced by Shark Blue, which is slightly darker.
