Mladá Boleslav, April 28th, 2011 - ŠKODA will bring the Ice Hockey World Championship 2011 to the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Within the framework of the main sponsorship of the 75th IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, the Czech manufacturer, together with the International Ice Hockey Federation, has developed attractive applications for the tournament taking place in Slovakia from April 29th until May 15th. All users of the popular smart phones and tablet computers who are interested in ice hockey can download the new offering for free and access it at any time.

Not only does the interactive guide offer up-to-date live tickers for all world championship games, but also plenty of background reports and interesting facts about one of the sports highlights of the year. There is extensive information about the teams, players, and the venues of the tournament. Also, thorough statistics can be accessed. Any fan visiting a match in the stadiums in Bratislava and Košice can inform himself or herself in advance via the app and receives useful information, for example about fan zones or about the current traffic situation near the stadiums. A complete result service and moving picture game reports round off the attractive offer that is available in a total of five language versions (Slovak, Czech, German, English, and Russian). The application is designed for iPhones, iPads and iPods touch and works on the basis of the operating system iOS (iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4G).

The new online offer is part of a wide variety of measures with which the main sponsor ŠKODA supports the annual IIHF Ice Hockey World championship – this year already for the 19th time in a row. In doing so, the Czech automobile manufacturer will have a presence as never before: Whether it's the ŠKODA fleet for officials and guests consisting of 40 vehicles or the placement of the company logo on the playing fields, banners, as well as jerseys and helmets of a total of five teams, or events in the stadiums and on the Internet: ŠKODA leaves its mark at this world championship. A strong appearance that is expressed very succinctly – not least due to the new corporate design, which will be presented to millions of TV viewers for the first time.
