Mladá Boleslav, 21 May, 2012 – ŠKODA Motorsport is getting ready for another rushed weekend. For the second time this season, the factory team is going to appear in two concurrent rallies.

While the European Championship leaders Hänninen & Markkula are going to Croatia, the leaders of the Czech Championship, Kopecký & Dresler, are staying home to appear at the Český Krumlov Rally. Their this year's Czech Championship record is unique – three appearances, three victories.

Taking place in the surroundings of Rijeka, the third event of this year's European Rally Championship will see ŠKODA Motorsport's Croatian premiere. Neither Hänninen nor Markkula have ever taken part in this event, and ŠKODA Motorsport's factory driver Juho Hänninen says: "This is an event where we can get a whole lot of European Championship experience. The pre-event on-site test will be highly important, because we do not know much about the Croatian Rally, but both Mikko and I are looking forward to it a great deal."

Having comfortably won all of the rallies of this year's Czech Championship, Jan Kopecký has the highest possible ambitions also in Krumlov: "Obviously, everybody expects us to win again, but there are no guarantees and nothing is given free in sport. However, we are ready to fight for the top ranks."

While the Croatian Rally consists of 16 special stages (240 kilometres) spread over three days, the program of the Krumlov Rally includes 14 stages (178 special-stage kilometres).
