Mladá Boleslav, 8 October 2012 – Using a ŠKODA Fabia Monte Carlo as a safety car driven by a VIP crew made up of Jan Kopecký & Pavel Dresler has proven to be a very good idea. Acting as a safety crew, this year´s Czech Rally Champions substantially contributed to a smooth and successful outcome of the final event of this year´s International Czech Championship.

Seeing the cooperation with ŠKODA Motorsport´s factory crew as a highly positive initiative, FAS (Automobile Sports Federation) Media Officer Josef Pátl says: "It is no doubt that Jan and Pavel did a very useful job – their recommendations were the base for making several changes to the track and its safety zones. It´s become apparent that cooperation with professional drivers is a step in the right direction. Many thanks to ŠKODA Motorsport for supporting this project."

Summarising the past weekend on behalf of the whole crew, Jan Kopecký says: "Pavel and I really appreciate the opportunity to be involved in this project, and we hope that we have met the organisers´ expectations by taking on this role. I believe that we have enough experience gained at various events at home and abroad, and we are prepared to share this experience. I wish to thank the spectators for excellent cooperation and the organiser for showing understanding and accepting our comments and recommendations".

Jan Kopecký is the Czech face of the ´Road for Safety´ programme launched by the International Automobile Federation (FIA) with the objective of increasing the safety of road traffic. The patron of this long-term project in the Czech Republic is the Czech Automobile Club.

The Příbram Rally was the final event of this year´s International Czech Rally Championship, and it was Jan Kopecký & Pavel Dresler in a ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000 who had become the champions with one event still to go.
