Škoda Auto BOD Chairman Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland handed a check to the Help Children Foundation patron Tereza Maxová

In Mladá Boleslav, 22 November, 2010 – Škoda's gala evening held last Saturday as a tribute to the brand's rally champions included a major charity initiative. Tereza Maxová's Help Children Foundation is going to receive a donation of CZK 1 million.

Attended by about a thousand guests (including many people from world leading rally teams) who gathered to celebrate Škoda's remarkable rallying achievements, the evening programme included a charity auction in which the main items were a pair of racing overalls of the 2010 IRC Champion Juho Hänninen, VIP programmes with Juho Hänninen at the Monte Carlo Rally and Barum Rally Zlín events in 2011 and a mock-up of the limited-edition Fabia Super 2000 that was bought by Andreas Mikkelsen, a brand new member of the Škoda UK Motorsport team.

The auction generated CZK 170 thousand in total, and Škoda Auto BOD Chairman Prof. Dr. h.c. Winfried Vahland then "rounded" that amount up to CZK 1 million by officially presenting a symbolic cheque to the Help Children Foundation patron Tereza Maxová.
