Mladá Boleslav, 19 October, 2010 – Škoda Auto has extended its contract with the Czech Ice Hockey Association until 2013 to continue its successful partnership with one of the most successful sports and also this year's world champions that has been underway since 1992. Škoda remains the main partner and the official car of the Czech Republic national team.

Škoda Auto has been supporting this worldwide-popular sport (that has become one of the key pillars of the car manufacturer's long-term corporate communications strategy and the flagship of its sponsorship portfolio) for 19 years. Furthermore, Škoda has been the main partner of IIHF world championships since 1993 and a partner of the Czech Republic's highest ice-hockey league ("Extraliga") since the year 2000.

"Ice-hockey and Škoda "have been together" for nearly two decades without a break. Our partnership has helped to substantially enhance Škoda's image and increase the brand awareness in major markets. Ice-hockey is a world of emotions, commitment and dynamics, and our partnership with the best in this tough but fair sport is a great fit for our brand", stressed Škoda Auto BOD Chairman Prof. Winfried Vahland".
