Mladá Boleslav, April 20th, 2012 –ŠKODA AUTO management successfully concluded wage negotiations with representatives of the OS KOVO labour union on April 20th, 2012. A new wage contract will become effective retroactively as of April 1st, 2012, and will remain in force until March 31st, 2013.

Under the agreement, current contract wages will rise by 5.0 per cent as of April 1st, 2012. Also, each contract employee will be entitled to a variable bonus amounting to 20,000 CZK in total following a successful fiscal year. This is a bonus component determined anew every year based on the company's total performance. Another result of the negotiations is an increase in the company's contribution to contract employees' pension insurance. This contribution rises 100 CZK to 800 CZK per month, also as of April 1st, 2012.

"In concluding this agreement, the company has gone to the limits of what is feasible. Because ŠKODA's success is the success of all of its employees, the record sales and financial results which we achieved together in 2011 played a part in the contract negotiations," said Bohdan Wojnar, ŠKODA board member in charge of human resources. "We believe in giving our staff a fair share of the brand's success," Wojnar continued. "Together with the labour union and following negotiations conducted in a spirit of responsibility, we have succeeded in concluding a fair agreement which will motivate staff, but also securing ŠKODA brand's competitiveness and future growth," Wojnar said.
