Hustopeče, 23 June, 2012 – Jan Kopecký & Pavel Dresler of ŠKODA Motorsport (factory team) won comfortably also the fifth event of this year´s Czech Championship. Leading from start to finish, Kopecký & Dresler achieved another victory in Hustopeče and, with the maximum possible number of points, they are near winning the Czech Championship title. Having won in Hustopeče just like last year, they have extended their spectacular string of victories in Czech Championship events this year.

The Hustopeče Rally promised a big hunt on Kopecký & Dresler who were unbeaten in this year´s Czech Championship events, but ŠKODA´s factory crew extended their string of victories today to reinforce their firm position in the lead. 33.3 seconds behind them, Roman Kresta & Petr Gross in a private Fabia Super 2000 finished second to land in second place in the championship standings. Having beaten Valoušek & Kostka in a Peugeot Super 2000 by 2.4 sec, Tarabus & Trunkát came third to seal the triumph of Mladá Boleslav-made Fabia Super 2000s.

Thrilled to bits about his this year´s spectacular string of victories, Jan Kopecký said: "Pavel and I are very happy – it´s five appearances, five victories! We knew it wouldn´t be easy and it really wasn´t. I wish to thank the entire team, our great results are based on excellent performances put in by all of us".

The Czech Championship continues with the Bohemia Rally, this year´s sixth event to take place in the surroundings of the Mladá Boleslav plant over 13-15 June.

International Czech Championship standings after five events:

1.    Kopecký/Dresler (ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000) - 250 points
2.    Kresta/Gross (ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000) – 152 points
3.    Pech/Uhel (MINI Cooper Super 2000) – 97 points
