Mladá Boleslav, 19 February, 2013 – ŠKODA Motorsport's Jan Kopecký has for the sixth time won Golden Steering Wheel in the Czech Republic. Czech rally Champion and IRC Vice-Champion won the award in the Rally category. Kopecký won for the third consecutive year.

Jan Kopecký is proud of this award from motoring media and experts: "We are very pleased to have won this prestigious Czech motoring award for the sixth time. The Golden Steering Wheel is also a token of appreciation for the entire ŠKODA Motorsport team that again supported me excellently all of last year. I promise not to rest on our laurels – our ambition is to continue winning big rallies".

Jan Kopecký comfortably won the Czech Rally Championship and became the IRC vice-champion for the fourth consecutive year in 2012. This year - together with his co-driver Pavel Dresler - Kopecký will appear at selected events of the European Rally Championship (ERC).

Made up of leading Czech motoring journalists and experts, the jury selects overall winners in the Rally, Circuits, Uphill, Autocross + Rallycross, Endurance Races and Go-Karts categories. The final rounds are only reached by drivers who triumph in domestic championships or succeed in international competition.
