Mladá Boleslav, July 2nd, 2012 – ŠKODA Motorsport's Juho Hänninen & Mikko Markkula in a ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000 want to remain top of the current European Championship standings also after the upcoming weekend. The sixth event of the series, the Bosphorus Rally in the surroundings of Istanbul, is the first gravel rally in this year's European Championship calendar.
Hänninen & Markkula who won the Belgium Rally a few days ago are looking forward to their next appearance on gravel, the surface on which both Finns feel very comfortable: "Gravel is the surface we like very much. We have made considerable progress on asphalt, too, but we still feel more comfortable on gravel. We are looking forward to this event a great deal, although it is a complete unknown to us. We are going to Turkey with an ambition to gain as much experience as possible and seal our top position in the European Championship standings".
Scheduled to take place in the surroundings of Istanbul over July 6 -8 (Fri-Sun), the Turkey Rally consists of 14 special stages (238 kilometres in total).
