Rijeka, 25 May, 2012 – For the second time this season, ŠKODA Motorsport (factory team) is appearing in two concurrent rallies. While Juho Hänninen & Mikko Markkula are taking part in the Croatia Rally (3rd event of the European Championship) for the first time in their rallying careers, ŠKODA Motorsport's other factory crew, Kopecký & Dresler, are looking to remain unbeaten at this year's home events.erc

Taking place in the surroundings of Rijeka, the three-day event in Croatia has been dominated by ŠKODA drivers so far – ŠKODA Motorsport's Juho Hänninen is in the lead, followed by Red Bull's Hermann Gassner in another Fabia Super 2000. The Thursday leg was affected by fast-changing weather conditions including rain showers, which is always a challenge in terms of choosing the right tyres. On Friday the weather picked up and, just like on Day 1, it was Hänninen and Gassner who fought for the top rank. Hänninen is in the lead after 10 special stages, 17 seconds ahead of second-placed Gassner, Betti in a Peugeot is third, more than one minute behind the leader.

Commenting on the Croatia Rally before its final day, Juho Hänninen says: "So far, so good! The tracks are up my street - they are fast and the battle with Hermann makes this rally really exciting. The final stage on Saturday is more technical, but we certainly want to be as fast as we've been so far".

Concurrently with the Croatia Rally, Jan Kopecký & Pavel Dresler are in South Bohemia at the Český Krumlov Rally. Kopecký is looking to remain unbeaten at this year's home events after winning all of the first three rallies of this season. Both rallies are scheduled to end on Saturday afternoon.
